ReplyDeletekata refuses to shoot Raul because she doesn't want to kill someones baby or grandparent. This shows me that Kata cares about other people and doesn't want to hurt innocent people.
ReplyDeletewhat dreamer means by saying that Raul didn't look the part is that Raul's look gives you wrong ideas about the way that he actually is.

ReplyDeletePocho wants Raul dead because he's jealous that Ana was pregnant by Raul. We know because Pocho was pressuring Kata to kill a person and she said,"No because there was a lot of people in the neighborhood."
ReplyDeletePocho tricks Kata into thinking Raul killed Ana because he is from a rival gang. We know this by Pocho mentioning "other neighborhood" and or saying "enemy territtory"
ReplyDeleteHe also pressures her to shoot him.

ReplyDeleteWe know that Raul is saying the truth because Dreamer says that you can see Ana in his eyes, & because Raul can`t believe that Ana is dead when Dreamer tells him.
ReplyDeleteKata doesn't want to shoot with people on the porch she doesn't want to hit a innocent person , she want to kill the right person not a bystander. this tells us she cares about other people safety .
ReplyDeleteKata doesn't want to shoot Raul because what if she hits the kids and other people
ReplyDeletePocho wants Raul dead because Ana loved Raul more than Pocho and he knows this because Ana's sister Amelia told him.
ReplyDeleteKata walks up to Raul so that when she shoots him,he will feel the pain that she felt when she lost her best friend Ana.I probably would've done the same thing if they killed my best friend.
ReplyDeleteKata knows Raul is telling the truth because she says that he grandfather told her that true lovers share the same soul and Raul and Ana had the same look in there eyes so she knew that he was telling the truth

ReplyDeleteRaul doesn't want anyone on the porch to hear what he is going to say to Kata because they're in different gangs and Raul's friends don't know that he has a girlfriend from the rival gang.

ReplyDeletePocho tricked Kata by pressuring her that he was in the car and he had the gun, shot Ana that night.
ReplyDeleteRaul doesn't want anyone on the porch to hear what they are talking about because he doesn't want anyone to know that he was going out with somebody from a different neigborhood.
ReplyDeleteAlso because Dreamer said she saw Ana in Raul's eyes and share one soul
ReplyDelete@ Araceli - you are right. Good observation
ReplyDelete@ Armando - yes, Pocho was pressuring (good word choice) Ana
@ Brain - This is unclear because of the use of pronouns. Plus, I think you can add a lot more evidence. Repost it.
@ Katherine - Very well argued
@ Cynthia - Who is "She?" Dreamer? You have to say. Your comments are very well argued.
@ Michele - Great evidence

ReplyDeleteI think Kata chose not to stay anonymous and show herself because she felt that it wasn't enough for her to just kill him and take off without seeing if she saw the right person die, she wanted to show him that he would suffer in her eyes. I agree with her because she was doing something Chancey just like Ana like in respect for her and she wanted to see him die just like she saw Ana get shot.
ReplyDelete@Amira - Right. Well argued.
ReplyDelete@Lesly - Good job - both arguments are convincing. Good use of textual evidence.
@Moises - Great use of textual evidence and inference.
@Crystal - Very well argued and great use of textual evidence.
@Emely - Right. Exactly
@Alex - re-do this please. There isn't enough information. What did Dreamer expect?
@Emily - This is exactly clear. Please repost. How did Pocho trick Dreamer?
I think Raul is telling the truth to Ana because after Ana and Pocho escaped from the cops Ana says, she saw Ana in Raul's eyes and that Ana and Raul share one soul.
